The MacKenzie Blues Band is a Maple Blues Award–winning group based in Owen Sound, Ontario, delivering a high-energy blend of modern blues, rock ’n’ roll, and soul. Known for their gritty sound and electrifying live performances, the band draws inspiration from the raw power of 1970s blues-rock while keeping their music firmly rooted in the present.

Vocalist Tara MacKenzie leads with a commanding presence and a bold, soulful delivery that balances fire and emotional depth. Guitarist Trevor MacKenzie drives the band with a fearless blues style infused with rock and roots influences, earning recognition as one of Canada’s standout players. He is joined by Pete Devlin on co-lead guitar, adding depth and edge to the band’s signature sound.

The rhythm section of Joel Dawson on bass and Mike Weir on drums delivers tight, funky grooves. John Hume on organ and piano provides rich, soulful texture and harmonic depth.

The band has twice reached the semi-finals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and is currently recording their third studio album, slated for release in 2026.
