Formerly known as the Angelina Hunter Trio, this powerhouse band delivers the raw, electrifying sound fans know and love, now with a fresh identity. From gritty guitar riffs to soulful vocals, Angelica Jones is here to redefine blues for a new generation, all while staying true to the heart of their music.

The band, composed of three lifelong friends and mainstays of the Canadian music scene, has grown and cultivated their sound around the personality and stylings of Angelica on vocals and guitar. When she plugs in her Stratocaster, expect a wide range of style, emotion, and power. She can lull you in with sweet melodies and sear you with razor sharp blues attitude and screaming guitar lines.

Angelica Jones has the power to shrink a venue or blow it up with her voice alone. Totally unique, when she begins to sing, she sounds like no one else. She can tell a sweet story with her voice or bewitch you with its intensity. It’s a powerful instrument on its own. The Trio is rounded out by Sandy Hunter on drums and Adam Bell on bass.

The band is on an upward trajectory since their nomination for Best New Group at the 2024 Maple Blues Awards where Angelica was one of the few selected featured artists performing at the gala.

The eclectic but powerful blues based trio is a real melting pot of influences and many years of perfecting musical and stage craft have seen them win over audiences with their contemporary take on the blues throughout Canada.

In September 2023, The Angelina Hunter Trio – now Angelica Jones – released their sophomore full-length album, LET IT SLIDE.  This sees the band dancing across genres into a platter of vast influences, from soaring romantic blues ballads, to all out fun, to down and dirty blues rockers.  However, as wide as the scope is, it is deliberate, unfettered Angelica Jones.

Immediately upon first listen, Angie’s unmistakable vocals bring the listener into focus.  She possesses a gigantic voice that swerves from rock sassiness on “Crispy Bill” and “Back in 73”, to soaring melodies in “Wait for Tomorrow” and “Hard to Breathe” to gritty blues power in “The Sun Never Sets” to highway driving ambiance in “Let it Slide”.  Her guitar work matches the voice, being tasteful and melodic and also possessing feedback-drenched blues attitude.  She is supported by, and matched in attitude with thunderous drums from Sandy Hunter and grinding basses from Adam Bell.  This rhythm section is both aggressive and able to turn on a dime.

Their new single “Sunday Morning” was released in September 2024. Described as intensely raw and intimate, “Sunday Morning” is a deeply soulful track that highlights the essence of Angelica’s soaring voice and guitar.
